Project Reflection

Starting from the beginning, what went really well for me was writing the essay. It all came to me naturally, once I started to write I couldn’t stop. I am very passionate about sports so I enjoy taking every opportunity to talk about it and why it matters so much to me. The peer review part of this seemed to go nicely as well because it was really interesting to see someone else’s take on their essay and how it differs from mine. I appreciated the feedback I received from my partner. As for the second half of the project this was a little difficult for me at first. I was confused how this was supposed to work. I thought to myself, “So I’m supposed to read this and write follow-up questions, then present it how…?” Sure enough, I was able to figure out what was expected of me after consulting with peers. It was a struggle to come up with interview questions for my subject but I managed to eventually. Getting to learn more about my subject was cool because her story mainly focused on her childhood. I got to learn about what sports looks like in her life now. Come time to present, I practiced over and over again in an empty room. I practiced my volume, tone, pace, and mannerisms—trying my absolute hardest not to look or sound like a robot. Though there is room for improvement, I’d say I’m pleased with the outcome of all my hard work. Overall, it was a fun project that helped me improve different skills I will use in the future.
